Well here we go! Now i love getting out with a camera, Its not unknown for me to take a camera out even when i walk the dogs. One has become so adept with knowing what im up too that he always stands in front of me when i wield a phone or camera to shoot. He wants to be involved!
Like so many things in life i ask myself why?
I love it , and im constantly looking to improve myself any way i can. Video / photography lays a path down to do just that.
Art used to be a manual endavour. To paint, to sculpt, to draw. All fantastic human expression. But i think Photography, despite being around since 1826 is still opening new directions as the technology leaps forward.
But you dont need to spend huge amounts to get great photos, and you dont need be a technerd to understand composition or light. A want, or a love to learn more will always carry you further faster and that is why i love this.
Each trip is a new experience. Each expedition out is adventure and memories.
and you bring that home.
Not being a fan of talking about myself i tend to video my loves.
My personal interests are: Getting outdoors, cycling , racing cars, or karts (both i have previously competed in), dance, cameras (so obvious), the universe, engineering (another underated artform) Military equipment (with a hatred of violence) and i love talking to people. (and animals it must be said)
Ill post some of those interactions here for your amusment.
The gorgeous Isle of Skye
The peacefull grace of Loch long
Enjoy , These two can be fun on trips out. Chalk and cheese
First time fun for me on the canals of Wales
Told you i like to get out? I tend to take a camera or two with me. Why not indulge in what you love.
Longer link for the scotland trip on you tube .
Allright i'll admit that i love airshows , If theres one going on i love to get out with a camera or two. This picture is from about 5 years back, pre pandemic .
There was some great military aircraft to look over. This one is a Czech Airforce
MI 171s which was part of the display but also brough some service crew with it. This particular helicopter was escorted by another "chopper" in the Mil family a Hind gunship.
It was a great display and both helicopters looked quite sinister when airborne.
As part of the support group at Biggin Hills Festival of Flight 2017. The national Patrouille de France display team is well known for fantastic displays

One of my favourite lenses to use is a 50mm pentax F 1: 1.14 Its and old manual 80s one (I have several versions 1.7 , 2.0). Up close its super sensitive to getting the focus right
This version of the picture has been colour washed with priority given to a single colour. I can't work out which i enjoy more.
Take a look at Wendys eyes? At a distance of no more than 5 feet the left eye is in focus but the right is not. This lens can give the sharpest shots. But you
really have to check the shot after!
Full of restaurants ,bars, and gelato establishments right on the beach a grat way to see the sunset.
Its been far too long since I last saw the west coast of Scotland. Our recent trip featured some fantastic sights, and one of them was Mailaig. Its a tiny port in Lochaber, we actually took the West Highland railway from Fort William (Not far from Ben Nevis) which goes over the famous Glenfinnan viaduct which has featured in some Harry Potter movies. The weather was lurching from rain and mist to some dry minutes. So wasn't easy to get camera out for any length of time but i managed to get a few nice shots. This reflects what great views can be seen.
Bit of fun here. My two favorite collaborators. Utter professionals that work for carrots!
From above this picture depicts the view overlooking the Wye river and the valley
Video of the position to take the image. Great weather helped
Ive started making some relaxing videos. I record the sounds of the birds and the water for a meditative break.
